Default Execution speed with Lightspeed Trading Platform

Hi,
For those who trade actively with LS, what is the average execution speed of LS?
For IB, my perception is less than 1 second.
For TOS, it takes many seconds.
I am asking because I think that the LS demo will not reflect live execution speed? I have tried out the LS demo before and find that it was much slower than IB.
Thanks.

I have no problems with execution speed. I haven't experienced any slowness with a market order. With a limit yes sometimes I have to wait (it hits the price, but I wasn't first in line). For stop orders you can create a custom stop so that when it hits the price it automatically becomes a market order and your out, otherwise it takes a few/several seconds. Haven't used IB or TOS so can't compare.

Thanks for your contribution.
Can you measure your wait in seconds? Like 1.5 seconds, 2 seconds, etc?
Is your limit based on bidding to buy or buying the ask? I am looking for execution speed based on limit orders to buy the ask or sell the bid. That is taking liquidity in LS speak. Of course for the case of providing liquidity, the orders may never be filled.

Hoping for more feedback from others. It seems stupid to fund my account with a few thousands just to find out the real execution speed.

Like I said before and you acknowledged with limit orders you either get hit or you don't. Thats why I said sometimes I have to wait - sorry if I mislead you. The only time LS makes me wait is with stop orders, but like I said you can fix that with a custom stop.

I like Lightspeed overall and have had my fair share of problems with them but one thing they do have down quite well is execution speed. I don't think I have ever had a market order take more than 1 second to fill, generally they show up on my open positions I would estimate 1/4 to 1/2 of a second after I click the button, which is nice because if price is moving quickly I usually will actually get filled at the bid or offer price that I saw when I clicked the buy or sell button.

Hope this helps! And by the way---welcome to TradingApples, CBT!

Take care,
Brendan
