This will be by far the best way to practice trading!!!
Hey Traders,
Think or Swim has come out with the ultimate practice trading platform. It is called "Think on Demand." Right now it is in the works. They are throwing it out now to have users test it. But it will be fully functional soon.
It is paper trading times 10. You can go back 60 days and have a fully functional platform. Trading any of there products. Stocks, Futures, Options, Forex in real time in any time frame. The educational value of this is unmatched. This is what I have be craving. To be able to practice in real time with a virtual account 24 hrs of the day 7 days a week is going to speed up our learning curve 10 fold.
They do not have it complete yet. For now you can trade but the charts are not functional . They say they will be coming soon.
Very jacked about this as you can probably tell. Shoot has on this site a practice link but it is very limited.
Here is a link of a 75min video by the guys at Think or Swim talking about Think on Demand.

And here is a shorter overview around 5 Min's.

I do not know this for sure I can only speculate but I am willing to bet it will be free as a way to attract new traders to their actual platform so they can profit off of future commissions. If there is a fee I'm sure it will be relatively low, something just to cover their data and exchange fees. All in all it sounds pretty cool though

MatthewA1,
I have a Think or Swim account so it is free for account holders. But I checked on there free paper trading platform which is a platform anyone can download off the internet with 20 min delayed quotes. Seems that they do not offer it for them.
But if interested Think or Swim is a great firm, you can open up an account for $3500 and trade stocks, futures, options, and forex. They have 10 dollar round trip trades for stocks.
Any questions feel free to ask and I'll try to get the answer.

Wow, I did not know that TOS had 10$ roudn trip trades. Thats cheaper than I imagined. I use Zecco now, which is ok, but obviously they dont compare to TOS. Can you trade pennies(like OTC and PK) with TOS? Can you let me know when that practice trading thing is officially out? I would appreciate it.

Matt,
TOS is really good man. They let you trade anything in every market to my knowledge. Commish is good but you can still find cheaper. If you're paying more as of right now I would shop around. Saving $5 or more per trade will add up over time no matter how much capital you're working with. It's like cutting back on your utilities. It'll always save money. Good luck.

MatthewA1,
Thought it was 5.00 a trade. The other day I traded 1000 shares and noticed it was a $30 dollar round trip trade. So here is a sheet thats explains the commissions for trading stocks. If you are going to trade larger share sizes it is best to go with the flat fee rate of 9.95.
I will let you when the "Think on Demand" function of the site is fully up and running. They said the charts will be working in about 2 weeks.
Let me know if you have any other quesions about the platform.
