Default TraderEdge Trading Journal

Hey,

Been in the markets for about a year and 8mths. In the beginning it was more investing. Last six mths heavy trading. Every day I learn a new thing. Originally with Scottrade then switched to Lightspeed. Plan on putting videos up (as time allows) and posting charts of what I believe are good setups (they are by NO MEANS trading advice or recommendations). I feel posting these charts will be a good learning tool for me and others. Hopefully others with more experience can point out things I didn't see. My trading style consists of using moving avgs, B. bands, volume, VWAP, and patterns. In my experience stocks trade in its bolinger bands and if the equity does spike out of the BB eventually comes back through consolidation. Hence, I only use the bolinger bands to identify if something has more up or down.

Happy Trading

Hey TE,

Thanks for starting up your journal! We've got a nice little group of journals here and I think we are building some momentum with learning from each other, and just from getting our thoughts down in writing. Looking forward to seeing how things develop with your journal.

Shoot.

Hey,

Went through 5,000 something equities over the weekend and found several stocks I will probably watch throughout the week. Sorry no chart posting as I have not found a way to submit images from freestockcharts.com. So this week I'm just listing with some explanation. These are based on daily charts, but I also like them on other timeframes. AGAIN NOT RECOMMENDATIONS OR ADVICE. Feel free to comment.

LMT - thinking short - broke support and rose on lighter volume but have unfilled gap above.
RIMM - thinking short - break of 200 DMA and I see this going to 60 and possilby filling gap below. But also has unfilled gap above.
IDXX - thinking long - at resistence, strong volume on Friday.
T - thinking short - head and shld.
STI - thinking short, head and shld.
M - thinking long - at bottom of channel
DELL - thinking long - broke out of triangle on slightly increasing volume
CMCSA - thinking short - bear flag
TLAB- thinking short - head and shld. broke 50DMA
RF- thinking short - head and shld. broke 50DMA
HL - thinking long - nice consolidation before resistence.
ALU - thinking long - bouncing off channel line on increased volume.

You could probably just take a screenshot of the chart and post the image on here.

Should never go short in an up market but I did anyway.

Hey TradersEdge,
Thanks for sharing looks like you got some good trades in today on MON. I agree no need to short on a huge up day but looks like you made it work for you! Are you switching to FreeStockCharts.com during the trading day as well for your charting or just in after hours?

Hey good plays there TE. I try to make it a point to not trade against the broad market, but even sometimes I can't pass up a good looking play.

Brendan-

I use freestockcharts.com during the day too. There is more data in the charts. I like this site because it give you VWAP too.
